California Prop 65
Warning and Information
Proposition 65 is a unique California law that requires businesses to include a warning on any products that contain quantifiable amounts of over 800 possible chemicals, many of which are naturally occurring.
Some botanicals (even those grown and processed organically) contain low levels of lead which is often naturally occurring. We source our plant material from a few US companies: Starwest Botanicals in Sacramento, California, Mountain Rose Herbs in Eugene, Oregon, and Monterrey Bay Herb Co. in Watsonville, California. All companies tests all ingestible products for Lead, Cadmium, Mercury and Arsenic and their botanical products are well below FDA's current tolerable intake levels (and many times less than the amount shown to cause harm in adults).
We apply the warning to our products to protect our company from lawsuits by individuals and groups looking for businesses that allegedly do not comply with Prop 65.
